Everybody knows that sugar free breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

Think about it, your body needs the energy you gain from breakfast for the next few hours. For an adult, you need this energy to perform well at work, and kids need the energy to perform well in school.

And since sugar gets digested very quickly (and will leave you hungry within an hour or two) it seems even more important that you have a sugar free breakfast and make sure your first meal contains lots of protein and some fiber.

What About Losing Weight?

If you are undergoing a sugar free diet because you feel it will help you become healthier and lose weight, that is totally fine. But there is a common misconception that simply skipping meals will help you to lose weight.

Don’t do it.

Skipping meals simply is not a healthy way to lose weight. More importantly, in relation to breakfast, skipping the first meal of your day can actually cause you to gain weight, not lose it.


Because by the time lunch and dinner rolls around, you are starving, and you simply make up for those calories by eating more then.

Your body is much better at processing food in even increments throughout the day than it is at processing large amounts of food at one time. This should already give you a clue that you need to be eating breakfast to live a healthy lifestyle.

Which Foods Are Breakfast Foods?

Breakfast obviously deals with the first meal of your day. And although everyone is different, I will consider the following foods as “Breakfast” on this website (For Categorization sake):

  • Bacon
  • Eggs
  • Cereal
  • Oatmeal
  • Toast
  • Breakfast Burrito’s
  • Pancakes/Crepes/etc.
  • Bagels
  • Breakfast Sandwiches

So if you are looking for a breakfast that fits under one of these categories, then you are in the right place!

Although I know some other things can count as breakfast (such as muffins), I will be including them in a more appropriate place on the site (muffins would go in the Desserts section for their sweetness)
